It’s almost here: the end-of-year sales frenzy we’ve all been building up to. But first, we’ve got that little breather of a month for all those last-minute arrangements while dotting the Is and crossing the Ts. It’s time for a good stock take to decide, which products you want to highlight on Black Friday – but first things first: here are a couple of ideas for your e-commerce presence to make the most of your November.
November is also known as “Movember”. The idea was initially conceived in Australia in 2003 and has since taken the world by storm. In Movember, men grow mustaches to raise awareness for men’s health issues like prostate cancer and mental health.
Here’s when the iconic little black mustache icons with the twirly tips come into play – make sure to mark all your special deals in your online shop with it!
Men’s health is an important issue that is often overlooked, as men traditionally prefer to remain silent about their physical and mental problems. November is therefore a great month for focusing on your male clients.
Important e-commerce dates in November
Although there aren’t many stand-out days in November, your e-commerce and marketing efforts should take the time and focus on some of the quirky opportunities the month has to offer.
November 11 is Singles Day – the Far Eastern answer to Valentines Day! Originally celebrated in China and Japan, Singles Day has taken the world by storm. A fun opportunity for singles everywhere to celebrate their status or to make another attempt at finding that elusive better half. Definitely a great opportunity for e-commerce campaigns, interactive social media campaigns, special Singles Deals, and more. Be creative!
Here’s something you don’t see every day – on 19 November, the United Nations celebrates World Toilet Day to raise awareness for the sanitation crisis in the developing world. Sanitation experts, DIY markets, and plumbing suppliers could create some fun campaigns on the topic while boosting sales.
And then, of course, we have Black Friday, which falls on November 29 this year. Make sure you’ve got all your offers ready; your online presence should pop off the screen, and your logistics are perfectly prepared and organized. Here’s to you making the most of this huge e-commerce day!
E-Commerce events not to be missed in November
November 5- 6 is when you should be in Malmo, Sweden, to attend this year’s eTail Nordic conference and exhibition, the leading Nordic retail and e-commerce event. Here you can experience small-group interactive sessions and engaging networking events among heads of marketing, digital, and e-commerce from leading Nordic retailers and brands. Experienced professionals will share their experiences optimizing omnichannel strategies to transform customer journeys.
On November 13, we have the e-Commerce Horizon event series in Germany, a must-attend conference and a great networking and knowledge transfer opportunity for e-commerce enthusiasts!
The Customer Engagement Summit will be held in London on Tuesday, November 26. A great opportunity to hear from top-level speakers representing world-class organizations. They will be sharing real-life case studies to showcase the latest innovations in the customer engagement world and valuable, take-home, readily implementable ideas and strategies to enhance customer engagement.
Bottom line
We fully appreciate how busy you are getting your ducks in a row for the end-of-year e-commerce frenzy. There is still time to update and/or localize product descriptions, add chatbots or other AI tools to make the most of this busy season, or maybe you are considering an e-commerce face-lift for 2025.
There are many issues to think about when starting or revamping an online shop. Will you focus your e-marketing efforts nationally or internationally? Where do you think your products will have the most impact? Have you thought about localizing your content to best address your new customers?
Shop plugins, translation APIs, and other translation technologies are immensely helpful tools that will streamline your internationalization efforts and reduce in-house stress levels while your customers will be happy campers.
Isn’t that all we can wish for to ensure continued business success?
